The Lisbon Oceanarium

We love the Lisbon Oceanarium! It’s on the waterfront at ‘Park of Nations’ (Parque das Nacoes) with spectacular views across the Tejo to Lisbon’s Vasco da Gama bridge.

A visit to the Oceanarium is a spectacular and absorbing event, loved by people and children of all ages. The whole environment feels very open and spacious while accommodating hundreds of different species of fish plus otters, penguins and turtles.

Essentially the Oceanarium is a giant tank set out over the River. You walk through different levels exploring and discovering different views of the fish and other inhabitants.

The size and scale of the vistas are amazing and the huge expanses of glass make you feel that you are actually there with the sea creatures. It’s not to be missed and as it’s only a short walk to the Vasco da Gama shopping mall it makes a great day out.
