Our Review: The Praia D’el Rey New Kids Club

Suitably exhausted and now nap ready!

This Summer, Praia del Rey Golf & Beach Resort has a new kids club aimed at 3-12 years. Inviting young adventurers to learn the magical story of Rey, the seahorse who dreams of becoming a dragon. Located at the Marriott hotel, bookings work around your schedule, offering morning, afternoon or all day sessions. Meaning parents can book in some time off to enjoy relaxing by your private pool or Silver Coast beach.

This August, we put the new club to the test, with our mini experts to try out the fun and adventure standards.  

We booked in for a morning activity session, you can book in for breakfast as well but we opted to go straight into the Mini Chef Workshop starting at 10am. The girls immediately felt at ease and we felt confident in the staff, they have a strict policy of one entertainer per group of five. It might have helped they were making chocolate salami, but at collection time (2 hours later) they were delighted with their chocolate culinary efforts and we were overjoyed that it was not our job to clear up after them!

The playground is free for parents staying to supervise and is perfectly shaded in the afternoon making it an ideal sun break for us all. We had great fun, the ground is well thought out with lots of apparatus to discover. Although aimed at 3 years and up younger toddlers can still enjoy it and there is an enclosed swing and play equipment suitable for under-3s (with parent supervision).

The favourite area was most definitely the trampoline and we got some get pictures of the girls in flight! The Wendy house was a lovely place for imaginative playtime and we could all get involved in the snake swing. The dragon slide was a great finale for the girls, with our 3 year old very proud that she was just as fast sliding down as her big sister! They had created a great atmosphere for all ages, it was good to see all the activities on offer, older children were enjoying paddle board lessons in the safety of the hotel pool.

The morning finished with two suitably exhausted children ready for quiet time and who had royally enjoyed themselves. Whilst the sandy beaches of the Silver Coast and towns and villages near Praia del Rey offer great entertainment, it is great to have a new kids club to keep little ones busy and grown ups the chance to have some quiet time too.

Schedule: Morning – 9:30 to 12:00 Afternoon – 14:30 to 16:30

Age From 3 to 12 years old (supervised, suitable for toddlers with parent supervision)

Recommended: Book early for the activity programme, snacks are available at an additional cost. Don’t forget a hat and sunblock
