Within
the next five to ten years Portugal´s Silver Coast
will be transformed. Praia D'El
Rey will be ten minutes
from at least three more five star resorts and 18 hole
golf
courses.
Oceanico have launched Royal Obidos an
18 hole golf course with villas and apartments at a much
lower density than PDR. This will
be on one side of
the unmade road leading down to the Rio Cortiço restaurant on
the beach.
On the other side of the track will be Falezia
D’el Rey,
Kings Cliffs, PDR’s second resort. This will be another 18 hole
golf course with villas and apartments - probably in the style of PDR
but with
a tad less
density due to tighter planning restrictions.
On the other side of the main road Bom Sucesso is
taking shape. This is a multi-multi-million pound ‘designer resort’ with
18 hole golf course, heliport, spa, riding centre, hotel, villas, townhouses
and apartments.
The golf course is finished and is going to be playable in June 2008.
Next to Bom Successo is Quintas da Obidos a
development of very large plots for luxury villas. The selling point
for this development is an international
standard equestrian centre. Closer to the lagoon is Perola
da Lagoa which
appears to be underfinanced and unimaginatively planned but could be
a good investment opportunity. The effect of all this development will
be to drive up land and property prices outside the resorts - as it did
in the Algarve.
